Wrestling Wednesday 4 [The Quickie Thursday Edition]

BAAAMM!!

Quick review of this week in wrestling..

[Right hand raised] We pledge allegiance to the Nexus, one nation under Punk, indivisible, with integrity, and sobriety for all!!

Now, on to my weekly routine..

Friday Night Smackdown

#1 - Edge vs Kane, Last Man Standing match for the World Heavyweight Championship. Edge scores the 10-count after a Spear followed by a 1-man Conchairto to the knee of Kane.. **** match. Winner: Edge

#2 - Dolph Ziggler vs Kofi Kingston, Singles match for the Intercontinental Championship. Kofi gets a pinfall victory after a diving cross body block.. After the match, Ziggler ambushes the new champion with a Zig Zag, and Vickie Guerrero (ahemm, excuse me), as the official consultant of Theodore Long, orders for the match to be restarted.. **** match. Winner: Kofi Kingston

#3 - Dolph Ziggler vs Kofi Kingston, Singles match for the Intercontinental Championship. Losing for the 2nd time in a night is Ziggler, who is down for the count after Kingston hits the Trouble In Paradise.. ***1/2 match. Winner: Kofi Kingston

#4 - Big Show vs Cody Rhodes vs Dolph Ziggler vs Drew McIntyre, Fatal 4 Way match for the World Heavyweight Champion #1 Contendership. Slated to be a Triple Threat match between Show, Rhodes and McIntyre, but Vickie Guerrero (ahemm, excuse me.. again) adds Ziggler to the equation.. Notable in this match is the interference of Wade Barrett, who has come to assault Show during this no-DQ match.. Winner by a 3-count fall on Rhodes after a Zig Zag, Ziggler.. **** match. Winner: Dolph Ziggler

#5 - Kelly Kelly vs Michelle McCool, Singles match. McCool counters the K2 into the Faithbreaker for the 3-count.. After the match, Laycool hit a double forward Russian Leg Sweep to Kelly.. After Laycool add some insult to injury, Drew McIntyre comes in for the save.. Face turn, anyone?? *** match. Winner: Michelle McCool

#6 - Alberto Del Rio vs Rey Mysterio, 2 Out Of 3 Falls match. The 1st fall goes to Del Rio, making Mysterio tap out to the Cross Armbreaker.. The 2nd one is achieved by Mysterio, using a La Magistral to pin Del Rio.. The last fall is a countout, after (damas y caballeros, el es..) Ricardo Rodriguez holds Mysterio's legs to prevent him from reentering the ring.. ****1/2 match. Winner: Alberto Del Rio

A very interesting episode.. I've read the spoilers, and next week's Smackdown will be huge.. But sorry, no spoilers here.. Good times: the Last Man Standing match, Barrett's interference, Big Show receiving finishers from Rhodes, McIntyre and Ziggler, Ricardo Rodriguez (seriously), Del Rio's main event push..

Monday Night Raw

#1 - Alberto Del Rio vs R Truth, Singles match. A Tag Team match is supposed to be the opener, but is cut short after the New Nexus beat the hell out of Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov.. Winner via countout and another grab-your-legs-style interference from (damas y caballeros, el es..) Ricardo Rodriguez, Del Rio.. ***1/2 match. Winner: Alberto Del Rio

#2 - Daniel Bryan and Mark Henry vs Ted DiBiase Jr and Tyson Kidd, Tag Team match.. Bryan should have got the victory for his team.. But thanks to crappy booking, Henry pins Kidd after a World's Strongest Slam.. ***1/2 match. Winner: Mark Henry and Daniel Bryan

#3 - John Morrison vs Sheamus, Singles match. Morrison wins after the running knee (or kick) and a pin.. ***1/2 match. Winner: John Morrison

#4 - Alex Riley and Miz vs Jerry Lawler and Randy Orton, Tag Team match. Lawler scores the pin on Riley after an RKO, followed by a vintage Diving Fist Drop.. ***1/2 match. Winner: Jerry Lawler and Randy Orton

Just a bit above average.. I'm not really into the New Nexus initiation thingy.. Good times: the New Nexus T-shirt, Shawn Michaels' Hall Of Fame induction announcement, his Sweet Chin Music to Del Rio, Cena saying "ass" on Raw, Jerry Lawler in action..

Superstar Of The Week - Alberto Del Rio

Del Rio (real name Alberto Rodriguez) was born on March 25, 1977 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.. He has won a World Championship during his tenure in CMLL, wrestling under the name of Dos Caras Jr.. His father, Dos Caras, is known as the greatest heavyweight wrestler ever to come out of Mexico.. Using the flying armbar (named the Cross Armbreaker by the commentators) as his finisher, he has just won 2 falls on Smackdown and a match on Raw, besides getting Sweet Chin Music'd by Shawn Michaels this past week.. Hey, not many can claim that he has been Superkicked by the Heartbreak Kid though..

So that's it.. Until next week.. And tomorrow, for if you're following my Frictional Friday.. Make sure you'll be there..

Short note to my S.O: I'd wait forever if you ask me to.. :)

Music Monday 4 [The Common Edition]

BAAAMM!!

Nothing much to talk about this week, as I'm focusing on what to write this Friday.. Not everything was told this past Friday, so you can assume that the 'best friend' issue will be dragged into this week.. Can't wait for that.. And I suddenly realize that nobody is reading today's and the previous posts.. Haha, whatever.. I love talking (or in this case, writing) to myself.. (in case you are not me, and you are reading this, thanks.. you're awesome.. and if you're my S.O, you're better than awesome.. love you <3) Now, back to my weekly routine..

Artist Of The Week - Avril Lavigne
She's back, and you better be aware of it.. Avril Ramona Lavigne, born September 27, 1984 in Belleville, Ontario, Canada, is one of the most famous singer, songwriter, musician (she plays guitar, piano and drums), actress, fashion designer and philanthropist breathing on God's green earth today.. With her debut (and breakthrough) single, Complicated from the album Let Go (one of my all time favorites), she became one of the most successful 17-year-old skater girl at that time.. With 3 chart-topping albums already released, she'll be releasing her 4th album this March.. And you definitely can tell that she ain't no stopping soon..

Song Of The Week - The Pokemon Theme

Song Of The Week - Red Jumpsuit Apparatus' Your Guardian Angel

It's amazing how someone can change your entire life, and it's amazing how this song explains it all.. Yes, someone has changed my life, and this song is actually one of the lyrics I have given to her (and trust me, I'm really choosy of what songs to give to her).. Some of my favorite bits are "I'll be there for you through it all, even if saving you sends me to heaven" and "I know I'll be okay, though my skies are turning grey".. Awesome song, indeed..

Album Of The Week - Paramore's Riot!
Ahhh, can you feel that.. That's what 2007 in music feels like.. It feels like victory!! God knows how hard it is for me to look for and buy this album.. And did it pay off or what?? Best Paramore album ever.. The arrangement is sweet.. They mixed those catchy songs with slow numbers, which keeps us from feeling as we're listening to one long song which is actually 5 consecutive identical songs (listen to Sean Kingston albums and you'll get it).. And guess what?? Each and every single second of this album is full of emotion, passion and... well, music.. Definitely a 5-star album.. My favorites include Crushcrushcrush (me and my S.O's song <3, besides Simple Plan's Welcome To My Life), That's What You Get, Misery Business (with extended intro.. sweet!), When It Rains and Born For This.. Well, the whole album is my favorite!!
